Interview with Heroy

Free Download: Viva La Vida Acoustic

Love Music : Tell us a little bit about yourself. Your background, education etc. ??

Hi! I'm Roy Wiegerinck, the man behind Heroy. I'm a Dance Pop artist from the Netherlands. From an early age, music was very important for me.

I began by learning to play the piano and guitar. I got my first taste of performing in front of a large crowd at the age of 16,

When I performed in front of 500 people for my final music exam. Playing in front of so many people, gave me an amazing feeling.

Shortly after the concert I was asked to fulfill the role as keyboardist in the famous local cover band De Daltons.

I spent 9 wonderful years with De Daltons and together we rose through the ranks in Holland achieving significant local recognition.

Unfortunately, because of health issues I had to stop playing in the band.

In a bid to fully realize my maturing musical dreams Heroy was born. The name Heroy was derived from Reiger, my nickname, which means Heron.

Love Music : We been hearing a lot about you, so we notice your starting to gain a lot of attention how does it feel?

It's great to get some recognition! I feel great when people tell me they enjoy my music!

Love Music : Please tell us more about your project "Acoustic cover of Viva La Vida by Coldplay" ?

Normally I focus on Dance Pop music, with here and there a funky or latin twist in it, with uptempo beats.

But in my free time I enjoy listening to calm and acoustic music too. So I really wanted to give making acoustic music a try.

Also I love the band Coldplay, one of the best bands in the world. So I made an acoustic remix of my favorite song: ‘Viva La Vida’

It is available as a FREE download right now! Check the link below!

Love Music : What motivates you to do your best work as a Dance Pop artist?

I enjoy the whole process of writing a song, fitting al the pieces together and when I get positive feedback, it's the icing on the cake! Great feeling!

Love Music : Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to be a Dance Pop artist ?

Follow that dream! Even if you can't play any instrument right now, there is always a way if you're determined and really want to.

Love Music : Do you have any hidden talents ?

Yes, besides making music, I'm very good at not being good in many things haha :-)

For example I have a terrible sense of direction. I get lost a lot. Thank god there are navigation devices! :-)

Love Music : What are your future plans ? Your vision for the coming years.

There are some great collaboration projects coming this spring. As well in the acoustic as Dance Pop genre.

Also an EP, which could turn out to be an album.....

Love Music : If you could perform anywhere, in the world, where would it have to be?

At the moment I'm not performing because of health issues. Nothing serious, but unable to do performances.

But the most awesome performance I had, was playing in a sold out Paradiso, the poptemple in Amsterdam, with my band De Daltons at the time.

We played, did our thing and it was amazing. Great ambiance, the crowd went wild. Good times!

Love Music : Everybody needs time out. What do you do in your free time?

I'd love to get a beer with my friends and have fun! I also enjoy watching my favourite episodes of Family guy haha.

Love Music : Are you active on social media? what’s the best way to follow you ?

Yes! Facebook or Instagram. Also I have a YouTube channel. But the best way is to subscribe to my email list.

That way you'll get all the latest news and best of all: a FREE download of my Acoustic remix of Viva La Vida by Coldplay.
