Interview with Adam Hudson

Love Music : Le’s talk a bit about your music and what is the secret behind your band success ?

Our music blends so many different genres and motifs to create something unique. I think that uniqueness and not being constricted by a certain sound has given us success.

Love Music : Can you please tell our readers more about the band members and their role in the band ?

Diego Fonseca is our vocalist and he is the primary lyric writer. He is very passionate about that role and you can hear it in our songs. Phil Harrington is our drummer and I’d say he’s the most versatile drummer I’ve ever performed with. He knows many different styles and can play along with anything I come up with. Chris King is our bass player. He really feels the music and writes the bass lines based on that feeling the song should have. I play guitar in the band and I am the primary song writer. Each song I write is the musical representation of what’s going on in my life at the time. So each song has a different personality.

Love Music : Please tell us more about your new song: “The Way You Taste” ?

This song is very fun to play. There is a constant Bossa Nova drum beat that drives the song all the way into the funky bridge section. The sexuality of the vocals intensifies the music to make it a song you can’t help but move to.

Love Music : Any new project do you have coming up ?

We just released our debut EP which you can find on iTunes.

Love Music : Who are your musical inspirations?

I like innovative guitarist such as Tom Morello, Dave Knudson, and Adam Jones. I just enjoy finding ways to make noises that a guitar isn’t supposed to make.

Love Music : Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to be a professional musician ?

Don’t be afraid to innovate. There is a sea of bands that sound the same and you have to stick out any way you can.

Love Music : Have you set some goals to achieve as Alt-Rock band?

We constantly set goals to get better personally as musicians and collectively as a group. It’s easy to get complacent so setting goals has definitely brought us motivation. Our next big goal is to tour the east coast this summer.

Love Music : If you could perform anywhere, in the world, where would it have to be?

I think New Zealand would be a blast.

Love Music : Please share with us your proudest moments ?

Every time we play our set and the crowd is singing along to every word is the proudest moment for us.

Love Music : How can people find you and follow you online?

We’ve made it pretty easy to find us: just search mergesband on any site.
